Off Myra goes on her big adventure! Not only was the fellow Comic Furian she ended up with on her 'Morning Date' a completely unknown quantity to her, it was also - until I received my assigned comic for this assignment, anyway - an unknown quantity to me. With other Crossover Exchanges, I have been able to at least come up with some vague story ideas beforehand (things that could happen at FuryCon / Halloween / Christmas which could work for pretty much any combination of characters); but here, with only one character from my side and who-knows-who from who-knows-where on the other side, it was a case of 'on the fly story-telling'. That certainly adds some spontaneity to proceedings (who wants to end up with a predictable, generic story?), but it can also wrongfoot you if your assigned character is truly random - as it was with Keisuma the Demon Queen, from Blue Dragon's
! At first, I will admit, I had no idea where to take this story - I sat there, wracking my brains, thinking 'These characters have nothing in common! How in the Sprangled SputNak of Krall do I make Myra and Keisuma get along with each other?' This, however, was followed by me slapping myself on the forehead and sneering 'Fool! They don't have to! It can the date from Hell, or worse! The comedic potential here is unlimited!' And what do you know, I was right....
