Once I'd worked out the mechanics of Tony's rather whimsical anatomy re: rendering it in 3D, my final set of concepts involved a bit of experimentation with both his physical appearance - in case his traditional body form wasn't going to work - and his standard work clothes. Although the fundamental aspects of both didn't get any sort of drastic overhaul (if it ain't broke....), the final character model sketch I created did actually influence how I drew the comic-version Tony from that point on; in particular his snappy red-and-white shoes and the looser sleeves and cuffs on his sweater and short trousers. One idea that I didn't go with, but might potentially be revived in the future, is at the top right of the first page - Tony with a 'stache / goatee combo ala fellow comic shop guy Kevin Smith!
