Being eight-year olds, Peter and Timmy's big 'Captain Confusion and the WyreCats vs. The Driftwood Six' fight is based on their primary source of inspiration: Saturday morning cartoons and punchy, hyperbolic toy commercials. As such, their recreation is peppered with snappy battle quips (and awful puns), dramatic action poses and an overenthusiastic narrator who plugs the characters Special Action Features!!! to make you buy the action figures on screen. The statement 'With missile launchers, and light-n-sound power pack!', in fact, comes from an actual TV commercial - unsurprisingly, one of those for the Neon-tastic Transformers: Generation 2 from the 1990's.

Peter and Timmy are also demonstrating the ingenuity shown by most children when faced with the prospect of not having enough bad guys to go around - they've simply built their own, using wood, shells, fishbones and other stuff found lying around at the beach. The Driftwood Six (poor outmatched fools), as a result, live up to their name in the most literal fashion....
